In Photoshop, I separated out a design element from a concrete wall that I found in Chattanooga. I flipped a copy of the basic element horizontally to make the other side of the shape. To make a smoother and softer surface texture I used the Fantastic Machines- Paint Engine plugin.
From there, I rotated copies to create a base of 4 units, then rotated those?elements every 22.5 degrees. Changing the hues to red, yellow, and blue added to the complexity of the pattern. A blackground layer makes it stand out. Finally, I added a small glow for a finishing touch using the Alien Skin Eye Candy Gradient Glow plugin.
In the version below I used the Flaming Pear- Kyoto Color plugin to recalculate all the colors.

When I was a little guy in the 1930’s we had a toy that had two mirrors in a cardboard tube with some colored paper in a pocket in one end. I may not spell it right but I think it was a kaleidoscope. This is what your fantastic images remind me of being…only much more so. Thanks and I hope you can sell them to put some pretty green in your bank account! Much love and respect…Dick and Lois Moore
